    The Research Database

    The Research Database - the main database on The World of the Vikings CD-ROM - offers a professional level of access to the most complete collection of information on the Vikings published to date. It contains over 3700 images of primary source material, reconstructions, replicas, sites, landscapes, buildings, excavations and artefacts from all parts of the Viking world, many published for the first time.

     

    All the images have commentaries written by leading scholars in Vikings studies, contributor/copyright information, and small find number (where appropriate). The user interface has been custom designed to enable access to this huge resource without requiring any previous computer database experience. Images have been digitally scanned from transparencies for the highest quality, and all can be exported from the database for use in academic (non-profit) publications or presentations.
